Romantic cards don't come more romantic than this painting of two turtle doves perched under a bower of pink and white blossom. Turtle doves pair for life and are symbols of love, kindness and fidelity making unique Valentines cards, wedding cards or as an anniversary card.
Although at risk they can still be found in scrub and hedgerows and its very distinctive purring song is made by the male bird. I am delighted that a pair have come to make their nest on a nature reserve next to my studio
